Wisconsin League Starts with 4 Teams
The Dairyland Collegiate League becomes the second collegiate summer baseball league to play in Wisconsin. Started by commissioner Charles Davis, a former Indy player with the Pecos and Frontier leagues, the new league will begin play with four teams located in Fall River, Lake Mills (2 teams) and Waterloo. The lineup will include three league teams – Creek Mapaches, Lakeside Beach Bums, Lake Mills 94’sand one non-affiliated team (T-Cats).
Davis, a Northwestern College Sports Management grad, is also the owner of Thunder Cat Sports Academy a 15,000 sf all turf training facility with six batting cages, a full weight room and a 200-foot land for 60-yard dashes and long toss. Thunder Cats has 6 youth teams from 12 and under to 18 and under. Dairyland seems like the logical extension for Thunder Cats.
Dairyland will play a 40-game season with a five-game playoff at seasons end. Team rosters are currently 20 players.
Bats will be provided by Three Brothers Bat Co. and Ding Bat.
